Bees are one big, very diverse group of insects. Probably the most popular and most common species of bee is the Western Honey Bee (Apis mellifera), even in regions where it is not native. Yet it is only one of more than 20,000 different bee species around the world – including other honey bees, bumble bees, solitary bees and stingless bees.
