These agricultural crops rely, to varying extents, on insects to pollinate them and enable seed and fruit production. Managed pollinators, such as honey bees, can be seen as ‘farm workers’ – actively participating in agricultural production activities.
As our planet’s human population continues to grow, farmers need to produce more high-quality, safe food every year – helped by innovative crop protection technologies – while preserving the environment.
Addressing this challenge is the key to agricultural sustainability – and protecting bees and other pollinators is a part of that challenge.
