Honey bees pollinate many of the foods we love, but often they, along with other pollinators, struggle to find enough food for themselves. For several years, Bayer has been supporting the creation of beefriendly blooming areas at its sites and with external partners to increase the availability of forage habitat for bees and other pollinating insects. This year, we also launched our “flowers for bees” initiative, offering free seed packs so people can grow flowers in their gardens, allotments, tubs and balconies to help pollinators. The initiative is now finished for this year and all our seed packets have been shipped out.
Across Europe, these activities have been taken up in Germany, France, The Netherlands and Poland, resulting in some 60 miIlion flowers having been planted to provide nutrition for bees and other pollinating insects throughout the summer. The initiative is now finished for this year and all our seed packets have been shipped out.
Thank you to everyone, who requested seed packets and committed to grow bee-attractant plants in their garden or on their balcony. We look forward to seeing your flowers in all their blooming glory. Share your photos with us and others on your social channels and show the world what you are doing for bees with the hashtag #flowersforbees.
Together – we can make a difference to bee health.
